Career

Omoregie’s love for music and church was evident from his childhood. He began honing his talents in the church, starting out in the children’s choir. His musical influences include gospel singers like Fred Hammond and Kim Burrell, the R&B group Boyz II Men, as well as jazz, soul, and rock music. He was also greatly influenced by Afro-Highlife, particularly music from Sonny Okosun, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, King Sunny Adé, and Onyeka Onwenu. This diverse musical journey led him away from childhood dreams of becoming an engineer, military man, or footballer to pursuing a career in music production and singing.

Omoregie’s aim with his music is to bridge the gap between music genres, ensuring that the gospel aspect remains at the forefront. He creatively combines different styles, such as fusing a soulful melody with a high-life beat, mixing high-life verses with rock-inspired choruses, or singing in “Pidgin” English with an R&B flavor, all while delivering an inspirational and uplifting message to his audience.

He released his debut studio album, “Open Doors,” on March 14, 2014, featuring hit singles like “Always Pray for You,” “Why You Love Me,” and “Always on My Mind.” In May 2014, he partnered with Nokia for the release of his song “Love is Calling.” On his birthday, February 26, 2020, Omoregie established his own record label, Salt Music.
