
On April 14, 2025, an Upper Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, granted controversial Nigerian singer Portable bail set at ₦1 million in a defamation case.
Portable, who was arraigned for criminal defamation, intimidation, inciting public disturbance, and cyberstalking, was granted bail under strict conditions.
According to the court, he must provide two sureties in like sum:

One must be the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

The other must own a landed property in a Government Reserved Area (GRA), with a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
The case stems from a petition filed by Okunola Saheed, popularly known as Osupa, which led to Portable’s arrest on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State by command personnel.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement by SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, spokesperson for the police command.
