Apostle Femi Victor Lazarus, who was born on November 15th, serves as the founder of Femi Lazarus Ministries Ecumenical, also known as FLAME. Pastor Femi Lazarus holds the position of the founder and Lead Pastor of the Sphere of Light Church in Ibadan, Nigeria. He is not only a Public Health Professional but also the Conference Convener for Campus on Fire. In addition to his many talents, Pastor Femi is multilingual, fluently speaking Yoruba, English, and Hausa, and having a basic understanding of Igbo.
Early Life & Education
Apostle Femi Lazarus was born in Kano State into a family of three but is from Ogun State, Nigeria. Based on our research, he was born between (1990 – 1993) making him around the age of 30 to 33 years. He completed his secondary at Hannatu Memorial College in Kano state, Nigeria in 2010. He later went on to study Public Health at the Obafemi Awolowo University. After staying a year without being called to serve the country, In 2015, Femi Lazarus went on to complete his compulsory one-year National Service year (NYSC) at Akure.
Ministry
Apostle Femi Lazarus had a unique experience when he decided to follow Jesus. He said, “The night I chose to follow Christ, I had just come back from a night party. My dad and I had a simple talk that turned into something special. The Holy Spirit made my dad ask me questions that brought me closer to God. So, God came after me; I didn’t go looking for Him!” This important talk with his dad really changed his life. Since then, he has helped many people change their lives too by talking about God in a way that you can really feel God’s presence.
Pastor Femi Lazarus considers Pastor Bimbo Animashaun his spiritual father and pays homage to fathers in his speeches, teachings, and actions. He has engaged with Fathers of Faith, including Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, whom he, along with two other ministers, visited shortly before the Latter Rain Conference hosted by the Sphere of Light Church at Obafemi Awolowo University.
The Sphere of Light Church
Pastor Femi Lazarus founded Sphere of Light Church, officially starting it on June 9, 2018. Before that, it was known as “Friends of the Word” ministry, beginning in 2014 with gatherings on Fridays and Sunday evenings at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife.
Sphere of Light Church has a special mission from God to prepare His end-time armies, as mentioned in Joel 2:1-11. The Church sees itself as being created for this specific time, rising like eagles, empowered by the Spirit, and sent out to shine. Within the Church, there are important covenants in place, such as the Covenant of Life, Covenant of Ease, and Covenant of Sure Mercies.
Branches
The Church has branches in Ife and Moro, Osun State, Ibadan, Oyo State, and Area 10 Abuja, and is expanding to different parts of the world. The main headquarters is located in Ibadan, inaugurated on January 19, 2020, following a divine call to relocate. In this branch, three services are conducted every Sunday. The third service, called “Amazing Grace Service,” focuses on foundational biblical teachings and delves deep into the understanding of God’s word.
The Sphere of Light Church also operates the LA Church, a campus-based ministry with branches at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and the University of Ibadan. The church’s growth extends both to physical congregants and online followers, with numerous testimonials of God’s work, including the healing of a Muslim lady from epilepsy.
Currently, Pastor Femi is based at the SPHERE OF LIGHT CHURCH, ABUJA at Giverny Parks and Garden, Area 10, Opp. Amala Class, Area 10, Abuja.
FLAME
The Apostolic arm of the Church is called FLAME, which stands for Femi Lazarus Apostolic Ministries Ecumenical. This arm reaches out to various parts of the world through activities like the Campus on Fire Conference, the International School of Ministry for training ministers, and Flame radio—a 24-hour station featuring uplifting messages, health talks, and relationship discussions throughout the day and night.
School on the Street
Femi Lazarus is the founder of the ‘School on the Street,’ which continues to impact the lives of people, young and old alike. He received an award at the Royal Awards and Leadership Summit Ceremony hosted by the Ooni of Ife Foundation on January 18, 2020. Reflecting on his journey, he stated, “The very land where I once relied on God’s support to buy a 5-naira pure water, the same place where I had to walk from the university to the campus gate due to a lack of 20 naira for bus fare, is where God brought honor.”
Career & Educator
In his role as a Public Health Professional, Apostle Femi Lazarus organizes the Campus on Fire Conference in higher education institutions across Nigeria. The recent conference held at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, was marked by powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
As the Guide Pastor of the Sphere of Light Church, he runs the Femi Lazarus Mentorship School, a free mentoring program aimed at helping individuals fulfill God’s plan for their lives. Many young people have benefited from his guidance, crediting their spiritual growth to his mentorship.
Pastor Femi Lazarus is a vocal advocate for media accuracy and balance. In a meeting with media influencers, he stressed the importance of accurately representing God’s instructions. He teaches that a person must overcome themselves, not just their adversaries, to realize their destiny, and emphasizes that life decisions are pivotal in determining one’s fate.
Pastor Femi Lazarus is not only a spiritual leader but also an educator. He has been actively training pastors for many years and aims to raise an end-time army for God’s work. On June 12th, 2022, he was ordained as an Apostle during the Festival of Life Anniversary of the Sphere of Light Church in Ibadan.
Pastor Femi Lazarus conducts a weekly online Bible study through the Telegram app, aiming to teach the Word of God. He also initiated the Slum Education Initiative to provide education to children who have no other options.

Pastor Femi Lazarus is happily married to his wife, Pastor Miracle Lazarus. The couple tied the knot on December 12, 2020, and welcomed their first child, Mofifunoluwa Abigail Femi-Lazarus, on November 26, 2021. And a second child on the 28th of January, 2024. Together, they lead the Ibadan and Abuja assemblies.
