Early Life

Peterson Okopi was born on August 8, 1997, in Lagos, Nigeria, into a family of six, to parents from Benue, Mr. and Mrs. Adikwu. He spent his formative years in the Nigerian Airforce Base in Ikeja, Lagos, where his father served as an airforce personnel. Growing up in a family of six, he received abundant love and support from his family, which played a crucial role in helping him discover his musical talent at the young age of 5.

Education

Peterson Okopi completed his primary and secondary education at the Nigerian Airforce primary and secondary school in Lagos. After finishing secondary school, he furthered his education at Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech), also in Lagos, where he earned an Ordinary National Diploma in English. Currently, he is a student at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), pursuing a B.Sc. in Mass Communication.

Career

Coming from a family that cherished music, with both his parents being music enthusiasts, Peterson Okopi’s musical journey began at a very early age. By the age of 7, he was already ministering as a soloist in his church choir. Over the years, he evolved into a full-fledged artist, performing in various churches across Nigeria. He has graced some of the largest church platforms and events in Africa, including MMPRAISE, an annual music praise concert organized by the REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD (RCCG) to celebrate the birthday of their General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, COMMONWEALTH OF ZION ASSEMBLY (COZA), MASS CONCERT, REFLECTION CONCERT, and more. In 2018, Peterson Okopi released his debut single, “AMAZING GOD.” A year later, he followed it up with “BABA,” his second single in 2019, which garnered widespread acclaim. In 2020, he released his third single, “UP TO SOMETHING,” under the TWC Records label, following his signing with the label. In 2021, he released “OGA EME” and the music video for “AMAZING GOD” in preparation for the launch of his debut album.
